My Sunday Drive

Well, Megan and I haven't been very diligent in dedicating time to teach me how to drive standard. Considering that we are leaving tomorrow, we had to knock it out today. We ran some last minute errands today and went to Walmart to pick up snacks and drinks for the road. We came back home and unloaded the car, but we had to head back to town because we haven't printed our maps yet, and since there isn't internet at the house (PITA!) we have to drive to town and find internet....

I looked at Megan and said, where ever we go next, I am driving. She said, I was just thinking the same thing. So after about ten minutes of reviewing the gears, adjusting the seat, etc., I started to reverse out of the driveway. Megan stood in the road and helped back me out because she was scared I was going to take out her stone wall at the end of the drive way. It's probably a good thing she did. So about ten stall outs later, I was finally in the middle of the road ready to go into first gear and head into town.
I didn't stall at all on our trip to town, had quite a few jerky spots, but all in all, we made it. Megan said I like to peel out. :)

We are looking to leave tomorrow at 8am. I'm trying to find a way to get one of those wireless cards through Sprint so we will always have internet access and be able to give updates instantly instead of having to wait until we get to a hotel. Standby.

Make this trip one that is filled with memories, loads of giggles and adventures. Forget the rearview mirror, for the road ahead is what counts the most.

Be well my friends,

Paul

Geez - we heard the gear grinding noises all the way down here in Asheville (where we had an inch of snow Friday night).

Drive safe!
